Background
The IAPP developed and launched the Privacy Innovation Award program in 2003 as a catalyst for organizations to look more closely at ways in which they can transform themselves through the organizational integration of privacy as well as reap the benefits of greater consumer/citizen satisfaction, enhanced customer relationships, and the competitive advantages driven by unique privacy-enabled models.
Since its founding in 2001, the IAPP has grown quickly to become the world’s largest professional association representing the emerging field of information privacy. The mission of the IAPP is to define, promote and improve the privacy profession globally through awards programs, conferences, networking forums, educational programming and professional certifications in privacy and data protection.
The IAPP is pleased to again partner with HP, a leading technology privacy organization, to recognize distinguished organizations in our field for the eighth consecutive year.
With its focus on the importance of privacy and security for success in e-commerce and e-governance, and its 2,600+ strong membership base of privacy professionals, the IAPP is proud to host the Privacy Innovation Awards. IAPP's privacy conference series, credentialing programs and educational forums are renowned for their non-partisan approach to educating business, government, and higher education on the latest policies, ideas, and best practices from the privacy and security fronts.
